Step-by-Step Hardwood Floor Repair Process
Ready to get started? Just follow these steps and you’ll be well on your way to floors that are good-as-new!
Remove the damaged pieces of flooring using a pry bar. Be sure to vacuum any debris that is left over from the process.
Cut the vapor barrier to fit your floor and then staple into place with the staple gun. A helpful tip is to hammer the staples into place.
Place down new boards and face-nail each one into place. Once all of the boards are nailed into the floor, you can use wood putty to cover each nail.
Using the orbital sander prepares the newly placed boards for sanding. Be sure to take your time!
Stain the new floor to your desired color using a rag. Each type of wood requires a certain type of stain, so do your research beforehand to find just the right one!
